Davis Aviation was able to participate and support the second Operation P.R.O.P. (People Reaching Outrageous Potential) event this past Saturday, October 22, 2011 at John Bell Williams Airport in Raymond, Mississippi.
The event, which offered free flights to those with various disabilities, has received much national and associated press as Mr. Linwood Nooe, president/founder of the event, strives to give a taste of the freedom of flight to those interested. Another goal of Mr. Nooe is to help people realize that not all disabilities prevent a hobby or career in aviation.
Over 120 people enjoyed a flight that day and the event had the support and volunteers of upwards of 100 people. The different parties involved included the National Guard, area boy scouts, Wounded Warrior Project, Mississippi State Hospital and their facilities, Pilots and volunteers from the Raymond, MS EAA Chapter, The Ninety-Nines Int’l Organization of Women Pilots and many more.
The Davis Aviation crew was out there representing and helping out! From flights to wheelchair basketball, we certainly enjoyed meeting those that attended! The companies Beechcraft Bonanza was used for the event and enabled almost 10 flights that day. We believe in this organization and can’t wait to see what the future holds for it. Stay in touch with them through Facebook and Twitter.
Any questions about how to get involved and support, please contact Linwood Nooe or Danny Carpenter.
